OTE more than triples DSL lines in a year

17 Jan 2007

Greek incumbent OTE more than tripled its number of high speed internet customers in 2006, reporting 512,000 retail and wholesale DSL subscribers at the end of the year, up from just 155,000 a year earlier, the company said in a statement. OTE has cut its prices by up to 67% over the past three-and-a-half years as part of a plan to boost broadband penetration in the country – the lowest in western Europe, according to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database.
