BNamericas reports that Argentine ISP Ertach, which is to be acquired by Mexican telecoms giant Telmex once regulatory approval is granted, has installed a WiMAX node in Rio Grande, in Tierra del Fuego province, at a cost of USD250,000. This extends the ISP’s WiMAX coverage to 16 cities in Patagonia, completing the first phase of its planned rollout in the area. The company’s WiMAX network now comprises 40 base stations nationwide, covering some 80,000 square km in total.
