Shaw sure of itself

Canadian cableco Shaw Communications has posted a fiscal first-quarter net profit of CAD81.1 million (USD69 million), up from CAD75.7 million a year ago, driven by increased take-up of its triple-play services. Shaw’s digital phone lines increased by 38,197 to 250,904 during the quarter, whilst its cable broadband internet subscribers increased by 35,877 to 1,348,639.
