List of potential investors in OTE expected by end-February

12 Jan 2007

The Greek government has asked its advisors to provide a list of possible strategic investors in national telco OTE by the end of February. The government is looking for a partner, preferably an international telecoms operator, to take up to a 20% stake in OTE and invest capital and expertise in the company, which is currently 38.7% state-owned. The government has already been in contact with unnamed potential investors, and recent press reports have linked Telekom Austria with the Greek operator.
