Numericable-Noos unveils plans to open network to ISPs

8 Jan 2007

The French cableco Numericable-Noos has told Telecompaper that it plans to open up its backbone network to other ISPs. Numericable-Noos has an active presence in many of the country’s large and medium-sized cities, with coverage of around 40% of households on the mainland and Corsica. It claims to be the only carrier to operate a fibre-optic backbone connecting all of its cable territories, which, it says, puts it in line with the French government’s stated plan to deploy fibre-to the-premises (FTTP) across the country.
