Telefónica Móviles Panamá selects Nokia to build GSM radio and GPRS network

Telefónica Móviles Panamá has chosen Nokia to build a national GSM radio and GPRS network which will enable the operator to offer mobile data and voice services. Under the agreement, Nokia will not only deliver a complete GSM/GPRS radio network but will also implement an adaptive multi rate (AMR) service, a voice compression technology that improves network efficiency. Nokia will also provide management services, project implementation, maintenance services and training to optimise the network performance.
