ONO reaches MVNO agreement with Telefonica

3 Jan 2007

Spanish cable operator ONO has released a statement saying it has reached a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) agreement with Telefonica which will allow it to offer its own branded mobile phone service over the Spanish giant’s GSM network. ONO said it will begin offering the service by the second half of 2007, once the agreement comes into effect. Spain’s telecoms regulator, the CMT, gave the go-ahead for MVNOs to enter the market in February last year.
