Nawras and Ericsson sign deal

Oman’s second mobile operator Nawras, which had over 475,000 subscribers at the end of September 2006, has signed a contract with Swedish vendor Ericsson for a three-year, USD50 million network expansion. Once the work is completed, Nawras’s EDGE-enabled network will be available to 95% of the population.
