Russia’s IT and Communications Minister Leonid Reiman has said that he expects combined revenues from the country’s telecoms and IT firms to reach RUB1.16 trillion (USD44.1 billion) in 2006, up 20% on the 2005 figure. He adds that telecom revenues are forecast to rise 21% year-on-year to RUB745.6 billion (USD28.3 billion), Prime Tass reports.

Meanwhile, Reiman has said that it is likely that three third-generation mobile licences will be offered in 2007, with a fourth concession possibly being auctioned at a future date if suitable spectrum can be freed up. Details of Russia’s 3G auction are expected to be announced later this month.
