Cable to Guam is a step closer

19 Dec 2006

PIPE Networks, an Australian infrastructure provider, has signed an agreement with India’s VSNL International to build a submarine cable linking Australia with Guam. The cable is expected to initially light 640Gbps of capacity, with further upgrades capable of increasing this to between four and eight terabits per second. No work will start on the cable until it can be properly funded and much work will be required before PIPE Networks’ strict investment guidelines can be met.
