ETB to invest USD50 million in IPTV rollout in 1Q07

Colombian state-owned telco ETB will invest USD50 million to roll out IPTV services during the first quarter of 2007, writes BNamericas citing local press reports. According to local daily Portafolio, the company has already completed trials of the technology in Bogota using equipment supplied by Siemens. The company expects to find a technology partner, to enter the venture under a joint risk agreement, by February 2007 and plans to start offering the service by March. With IPTV services added to its portfolio, ETB will be able to offer a triple play package.
