Belgian broadband users up 2% in 3Q

8 Dec 2006

Broadband internet connections in Belgium grew by 2% in the third quarter, according to the country’s Internet Service Providers Association (ISPA). According to the figures there were approximately 2.14 million high speed internet connections and around 237,000 dial-up subscribers at the end of September 2006. The total number of residential internet connections climbed 1.85% to 1.96 million, but business connections fell 1.14% to 424,326, largely due to a 4.7% decrease in dial-up accounts. The ISPA said nearly all major ISPs had taken part in the survey, bar cable network operators in Wallonia.
