7 Dec 2006

Mobile operator O2 UK is considering selling its national police radio network, Airwave, reports The Times newspaper. The cellco has hired banks to consider options for the business, which has around 3,000 masts covering 99% of mainland UK, and 150,000 users. Texas Pacific Group has emerged as an early potential buyer. A spokesman for O2 declined to comment on the possible sale.
