Taiwan’s largest telco Chunghwa Telecom has selected a real-time video telephony solution from Alcatel-Lucent. The IMS-compliant service allows video telephony and video conferencing between fixed broadband networks and 3G mobile phones. Shaio-Tung Chang, president of Chunghwa’s Mobile Business group, commented: ‘Our ADSL subscribers can now enjoy the excitement and practical benefits of both seeing and talking to 3G subscribers any time, any place. We believe the new service will accelerate the adoption of 3G services as well as the number of our 3G subscribers’.
