DBS wants MoC to say YES to HOT plan

1 Dec 2006

Israeli pay-TV operator DBS Satellite Services has asked the Ministry of Communications (MoC) for permission to offer triple-play bundles using the telephony and internet services of rival HOT Telecom, according to Globes Online. DBS, which operates under the brand name YES, is a subsidiary of fixed line incumbent Bezeq. It has long sought to bundle its satellite TV product with ADSL and telephony services provided by Bezeq, but current competition legislation prevents it from doing so. In the interim, HOT is monopolising the triple-play market by offering voice, broadband and TV via its extensive nationwide cable network.
