Mobile TV to be available next year

Cellular subscribers in the UAE will be able to watch TV on their mobiles next year, once the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) has created the necessary legal and technical frameworks for the service to be launched. A spokesman for the TRA said they were studying a number of European and American models for mobile TV, and consideration would be given to the broadcasters as well as UAE’s wireless providers, Etisalat, the incumbent, and Du, which has yet to launch services.
