Kabel Deutschland revenues up; EBITDA down

30 Nov 2006

German cable provider Kabel Deutschland (KDG) has reported its results for the six months to September 2006. Compared to the same period last year, revenue is up 7.8% to EUR539.9 million (USD711.4 million), while EBITDA was EUR185.6 million, down 13.8%, due to the start-up costs of a network upgrade for internet and telephony, and subscriber acquisition costs. KDG, which enjoyed just under 1% of Germany’s broadband market at the end of June 2006, had 212,000 broadband subscribers at the end of September 2006, of which 95,000 used telephony services too. Around 70% of all KDG’s new subscribers take a bundled product.
