Núcleo goes broadband

Paraguayan cellular operator Núcleo, which is owned by Telecom Argentina’s Telecom Personal unit, has launched a broadband internet service under the name Hippu. BNamericas citing local newspaper La Nación, reports that initial coverage will reach Asunción, Lambaré and Fernando de la Mora, with plans to expand to other major cities. The cellco expects to attract 10,000 corporate and residential users by the end of 2007. The report did not reveal what technology is being used for the service.
