America Móvil, the largest wireless operator in Latin America by subscribers, has announced it will be investing USD260 million next year in its Argentinian subsidiary CTI Móvil. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database, CTI had just over nine million subscribers at the end of September 2006, around a third of the market, which placed it second behind Movistar. The company said it hoped its client base would grow at least 30% in 2007, although no indication was given as to how the cash would be invested.
