Iraq to get WiMAX

20 Nov 2006

Iraqtel, one of the recipients of the national wireless in the local loop (WiLL) licences awarded in September, has announced it will be deploying a WiMAX network in association with Canadian vendor, Redline Communications. Initially covering Basrah in the south, Iraqtel intends to expand the network across the country, providing a cost-effective alternative to VSAT for broadband connections.
