Du may not launch until new year

UAE’s second national operator Du is to allow customers to register for a mobile number starting on 26 November, but details on pricing and launch are not likely to appear before January 2007. Du’s CEO Osman Sultan has said that numbers pre-registered by 14 December will be confirmed on 28 December, and his network’s billing will be per second, as opposed to incumbent Etisalat’s method of billing for every 30 second increment, but he did not mention a possible launch date for services.
