BNamericas, quoting local source Últimas Noticias, reports that state-owned incumbent Antel will be launching an internet-based TV service, Adinet TV, initially with three channels, but with new channels expected in the future. Anteldata, the operator’s broadband subsidiary, is offering the service via its ISP Adinet. The unit had 70,000 subscribers by June 2006, according to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database, and is hoping for 100,000 by the end of the year.
