Antel predicts USD47.5 million profit in 2007

Uruguayan incumbent telco Antel has predicted that next year’s revenues will reach USD780 million, of which USD47.5 million will be profit, reports BNamericas, quoting local newpaper El Pais. The state-owned operator says it expects 45.8% of 2007 revenues to be from its wireline operation, with subsidiary cellco Ancel bringing in 20.3%. It anticipates lower operating costs and higher income in 2007 and a USD10 million reduction in pension payments. The company intends to make investments of USD100 million in different areas next year, and is looking to end 2006 with revenues increased by 23.7% on 2005, to USD600 million.
