Taiwan’s telecoms regulator the National Communications Commission (NCC) has held a meeting with telcos to discuss a proposed pricing plan for wireline and wireless services. The NCC is proposing a scheme which will regulate the price of calls in the fixed line, 2G mobile and circuit-leased services sectors. DigiTimes reports, however, that operators have raised objections to the plan, claiming that it violates the mechanism of market competition. Further hearings have been scheduled. If approved, the new pricing control will come into effect in April.
