The low cost MVNO easyMobile, which operates in the UK and Germany over T-Mobile’s networks, has terminated its brand licence agreement with Danish company TDC. easyGroup, the parent of the MVNO, said that the easyMobile brand would be at risk if it stays in the hands of TDC, which it accuses of breaching terms of their agreement. TDC is now contractually obliged to stop using the easyMobile brand within a month. easyGroup chairman Stelios Haji-Ioannou said that he is putting a new service in place with a new partner under the easyTelecom brand, although it is not yet clear what will happen to existing customers if a replacement contract is not secured.
Meanwhile German MVNO Talkline has purchased the remaining 20% of easyMobile Germany to take its stake to 100%.
