Belgacom revenues up but profit down

Belgian incumbent Belgacom, the state controlled fixed line operator, has announced its net profits for the first nine months of 2006 fell to EUR702 million (USD897 million), down 30% on the same period last year. Total revenues were up 5.3% to EUR4.567 billion, of which EUR512 million came from Telindus, the network services provider that Belgacom purchased in January for EUR594 million.
