9 Nov 2006

Azerbaijan’s Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Ali Abbasov, has expressed his dissatisfaction with the ITU’s activities in a speech to the Plenipotentiary Conference of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) in Antalya, Turkey. He said that despite many appeals, the ITU had done nothing to eliminate the problem of interference in Azerbaijani airspace by Armenia through its occupation of Azerbaijani territory. The ITU’s Plenipotentiary Conference is held every four years and sets the Union’s policies and strategies and elects the management team for the next four years.
