Going for Golden

The Russian telco Golden Telecom has announced a 35% year-on-year rise in third quarter revenues to USD228.7 million, while net income increased 32% to USD24.2 million. Around two-thirds of revenues comes from Golden Telecom’s operations in Moscow. The firm recently launched a city-wide Wi-Fi wireless internet network which now incorporates 5,300 access points, 2,700 of which were installed in the third quarter. The operator says it had around 230,000 business and carrier customers at the end of September, plus 393,000 dial-up internet customers and 50,874 active cellular subscribers.
