Vodafone Hungary launches landline service

6 Nov 2006

Vodafone’s Hungarian mobile subsidiary has announced plans to enter the country’s fixed line market, starting today. Vodafone Hungary is offering landline services at prices it claims will be lower than the incumbent fixed telcos, and says people signing up to the service will be able to use either their conventional landline phone for the service, or purchase a dual-mode phone that will work as a cordless phone at home and a mobile phone elsewhere. Vodafone is reported to be buying capacity from Invitel in order to offer the new fixed line service.
