Amer Al Rawras, managing director of Oman Mobile, the state owned cellco which ended June 2006 with 75% of the domestic market, has said that his company is looking to take part in forthcoming privatisations of telcos across the Middle East and North Africa. Without giving specifics, Rawas said that the recent erosion in domestic tariffs needed to be offset, and growth through acquisition was the only way to achieve value for shareholders.
