BNamericas, quoting US vendor Cisco, has reported that broadband connections in Argentina reached 1.22 million at the end of 1H06, a 28% increase compared to the same period in 2005. This puts broadband penetration at 3.2%, boosted by a higher take up in the provinces of Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Mendoza and Santa Fé. The public sector, however, has been slow to catch on, accounting for only 5,538 connections nationwide.
