Nokia to manage Vodafone network

Vodafone Australia has signed an AUD230 million (USD177.5 million) seven-year managed services agreement with Nokia, under which the Finnish vendor will oversee all engineering, operations and maintenance of Vodafone’s HSDPA, W-CDMA, GPRS and GSM networks. As part of the deal, Vodafone Australia will transfer related employees and contractors into the Services business unit of Nokia Networks. Nokia has been working with Vodafone Australia since May 2004.
