Centennial Communications has announced the launch of its integrated broadband telephony service suite Aptus in Puerto Rico, designed for enterprise and commercial customers. The telco is ramping up its efforts in the VoIP arena in the Caribbean, and is rolling out a 1,300 route-mile fibre backbone connected 1,800 buildings, and upgrading its CDMA2000-based wireless networks with Evolution Data Optimised (EV-DO) technology, as well as introducing a mobilePBX telephony service which has been developed with BroadSoft and Atreus. Centennial says that Aptus is a converged service that enables businesses to have control over all voice communications via a single, integrated VoIP platform.
