Huawei assists CANTV in migrate to IP NGN

30 Oct 2006

Under a USD50 million contract signed last week, Chinese technology vendor Huawei will help Venezuela’s CANTV transfer all of its analogue fixed line voice traffic to an IP-based next-generation network (NGN), enabling centralised call control, service provisioning and subscriber profiles. The network transformation will utilise Huawei’s U-SYS solution including soft switches, media gateways, and multi-service access nodes. CANTV began deploying the U-SYS NGN platform in September 2005, and has reported that it is now integrated with existing platforms and operating satisfactorily nationwide.
