MIRS contracts Nortel for MNP upgrade

Israeli iDEN mobile operator MIRS Communications has contracted Nortel Networks to provide it with systems and infrastructure to implement mobile number portability, reports Globes Online. Market sources believe the contract is worth a whopping ILS2 million (USD468,000). Israel’s Ministry of Communications expects to see fixed and mobile number portability implemented by the end of the year.
