KDDI Europe launches Juniper Networks SSL VPN platforms

24 Oct 2006

KDDI Europe, a wholly owned subsidiary of Japan’s second largest integrated telecoms operator KDDI Corp, has contracted US-based Juniper Networks to supply it with Secure Access SSL VPN appliances to launch a managed service providing secure remote network access in Europe. In a press release Juniper said its Secure Access solution would enable the company to deliver network-based SSL VPN services to multiple enterprises of any size from a single appliance and/or cluster. The new service will also utilise the vendor’s integrated Firewall/IPSec VPN platforms to protect the network infrastructure in KDDI’s London data centre (a facility provided by KDDI Europe’s sister company, Telehouse Europe). The service is initially available in the UK with plans to extend across Europe in the future.
