Iliad to acquire Citefibre

20 Oct 2006

French wireline and broadband provider Iliad has brought its plans to deploy a fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) in Paris a step closer with the acquisition of Citefibre, according to Telecompaper. Citefibre’s optic network covers around 4,000 homes, and holds authorisation to connect 4,000 more. Iliad’s ISP Free wants its own FTTH network so it can reduce its present reliance on France Télécom’s local area network for broadband provision.
