13 Oct 2006

Turkcell has announced that it added one million net new subscribers in the third quarter to reach a total of 30.8 million customers. 25.1 million of these were pre-paid users, with 91% of gross additions opting for pay-as-you-go packages. Turkey’s largest cellular operator says customer churn rose from 3.6% in the second quarter to 4.1% in the three months to the end of September, although it expects the rate to fall as a result of its recent introduction of a new loyalty programme.
