Xfera makes first 3G call

Xfera Móviles, the Spanish 3G start-up recently taken over by TeliaSonera, has completed its first 3G call over its UMTS network currently being rolled out by Ericsson, the company said in a statement. Xfera plans to launch commercial mobile services before the end of the year. It will offer nationwide coverage based on a combination of its own 3G network and roaming over the network of Vodafone Spain.
