Claro may open network to MVNOs

11 Oct 2006

Chilean wireless operator Claro, the local arm of América Movil, may open its networks up to mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs), writes BNamericas citing the company’s CEO Salvador Salazar. In August Claro launched a new GSM network which now operates alongside the legacy CDMA infrastructure the company inherited when it acquired Smartcom in August 2005. According to Salazar the new network has been well received and as a result the company will be increasing coverage and launching new value added services over the coming months.
