Og-Vodafone to rebrand as Vodafone Iceland

6 Oct 2006

Vodafone Group has announced it will licence its brand name to its partner in Iceland, Og-Vodafone, which will now operate under the name Vodafone Iceland. The move is the first time Vodafone has allowed a partner to operate under its name as a licensed brand franchise, reinforcing Vodafone’s strategy to expand its brand footprint to countries where it does not hold an equity interest. The re-brand will cover not only Og-Vodafone’s mobile operations but also its fixed line and internet services.

Og-Vodafone, a Vodafone partner since April 2003, has been offering its customers selected Vodafone products such as Vodafone live!, the Vodafone Mobile Connect datacard and BlackBerry. Now, as Vodafone Iceland, the company will have broader access to Vodafone’s marketing assets, including the future range of Vodafone services.
