Azercell installs more base stations

The leading wireless operator in Azerbaijan, Azercell, added another 38 base stations to its wireless network in September, on top of the 63 added in August, to take the total this year to 246. A further 43 are planned by the end of the year. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database, Azercell had close to two million subscribers at the end of June 2006, equivalent to 85% of the market.
