TI lowers internet tariffs

3 Oct 2006

Telecom Italia has launched a new low-cost broadband package which offers unlimited internet access and voice-over-IP calls for EUR1.00 a day. The ‘Alice Tutto Incluso’ service includes a basic 2Mbps internet connection, or customers can upgrade to a 20Mbps line for EUR2.00 a day, with the faster connection allowing access to services such as TV broadcasts, including live football matches. Telecom had previously charged around EUR40 a month for its basic broadband packages. The firm recently revealed a restructuring programme under which it is seeking to transform itself from a traditional telco into a media content provider.
