Through an interconnection deal with US-based international carrier iBasis, Telecom Georgia will provide international VoIP services. International traffic originating on TG’s domestic network can now be completed over iBasis’s international network, and vice versa. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database, Telecom Georgia, which was privatised in January 2005 and specialises in long-distance and international traffic, also has 45,000 local telephony customers in the country.
