E-Plus introduces new brand

German cellco E-Plus is to launch a new brand in partnership with Universal Music Germany (UMG). Vybemobile is aimed at the younger subscriber, with low SMS costs of EUR0.09 per message, simple pre- and post-pay options, and music content and services from UMG’s roster of artists. The various incarnations of E-Plus in Germany, which include Simyo, BASE and Aldi Talk, were enjoying a 14% market share at the end of June 2006, with 11.9 million subscribers, as per TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database.
