iHug goes up against Telecom

27 Sep 2006

Internet service provider iHug has revealed that it intends to enter the fixed line market, competing directly against Telecom New Zealand. iHug is launching a NZD45 (USD29.80) a month home phone package which will include connection, unlimited local calls and a directory listing. NewstalkZB reports that iHug CEO Mark Rushworth is keen to take full advantage of local loop unbundling regulations which open the way for alternative operators to offer services over lines previously controlled by Telecom.
