Vivendi offers to buy DT's stake in PTC

26 Sep 2006

A source close to the matter said yesterday that Vivendi has offered EUR2.5 billion (USD3.2 billion) to acquire what it claims is Deutsche Telekom’s 49% stake in PTC. DT, however, announced earlier this month that it owned 97% of the Polish cellco, something the French telecoms and media group vigorously denied. DT has yet to respond to Vivendi’s bid. Vivendi and DT have been locked in battle over the operator for several years.
