Southeast Asian telecoms company Singapore Telecom (SingTel) is said to be one of five telcos in the hunt for a stake in China Telecom, according to reports from Channel NewsAsia. Other groups said to be interested in China’s largest fixed line operator include Japan’s NTT DoCoMo, France Télécom, Deutsche Telekom and Verizon Communications of the US. China Telecom is reportedly looking for strategic investors to help it enter the mobile market.
