Telecom Italia’s new chairman is expected to meet representatives of Italy’s stock market regulator Consob today in order to explain the telco’s proposed restructuring. AFX, citing Corriere della Sera, reports that Guido Rossi intends to meet with Consob to clarify details of how the reorganisation will affect Telecom Italia’s mobile division TIM, and whether it will remain part of the group or be spun off in preparation for a sale. Meanwhile, the same report has named a group of private equity firms which are thought to be uniting to make a bid for TIM. They include Carlyle, Blackstone, Permira, Texas Pacific, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts and Providence Equity Partners.
