Ertach launches VoIP Service

25 Sep 2006

Argentine data carrier Ertach has launched a VoIP service on its WiMAX network, BNamericas reports. The service is available in the cities of Buenos Aires, La Plata, Rosario, Cordoba and Mendoza, and coverage will be expanded as Ertach upgrades its 150 base stations to WiMAX technology. The work is expected to be complete by the end of Q1 2007. Ertach is an acquisition target for Mexican giant Telmex, which signed a preliminary deal to buy the company in August 2006 for USD22.5 million.
